Life is sweet at home

Our Caregivers

We realize how important it is to have a compassionate, well-trained individual working in your home. Our caregivers offer a level of support and interaction that helps seniors remain engaged in life, reducing their feelings of isolation and encouraging activities that stimulate thinking and promote physical well-being.

We start by hiring only the “cream of the crop” and all applicants go through a battery of tests and screenings that focus on skills, experience, attitudes, communication skills and job fit. Caregivers must pass the company hiring litmus test, which is “would we feel comfortable having this potential employee care for our own mother?” All our employees are bonded and insured.

Certified Nursing Assistants

Our Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) have passed a state-approved training program of 75 hours that includes 16 hours of supervised medical facility training. To maintain certification, all our nurse assistants complete 12 hours of continuing education annually.

Licensed Home Care and Home Health Care Agency Benefits

As a state licensed home care and home health agency, all our employees undergo:

  • FBI fingerprint check
  • Background checks with Washington State Patrol, the departments of Corrections, Social and Health Services, and Washington Courts
  • Motor Vehicle Reports
  • Washington State Dept. of Health credential verification
  • Employment verification and reference checks
  • Social Security number and work authorization verification

What makes our screening process unique?

We go above and beyond industry standards. Here are some of our additional requirements that ensure only the best licensed in-home caregivers work at Andelcare:

  • Drug Testing. Most companies state they have the option to drug screen. We drug screen all caregivers prior to be being hired.
  • Professional Personality Assessment. This assessment has been specially created for home care workers and measures skills & experience, attitudes and job fit.
  • Behavioral Interview. We look at how the applicant has handled situations and what the outcome was. During the interview process we look for and assess attributes such as: conscientiousness, dependability, judgment, integrity, motivation, values and style.
  • Communication Skills. All our staff must be able to clearly speak and write in English.
